Family Migration Pedigree

A good way to organize your effort to understand your ethnicity results is to write down what you know. Start by making a pedigree chart like this one, showing where all of your ancestors were born. You can add birth dates too, like Roberta Estes did here. You can download my template here.

Notice at the top I have listed the percentage amount of DNA you might have received from that ancestor. Now remember, for various reasons these numbers are not going to translate directly to the ethnicity pie chart you get from your testing company.
