Sharing DNA results from AncestryDNA
You have yourself some amazing DNA test results so you don't want to keep them to yourself. You can share your AncestryDNA results with anyone who has an AncestryDNA account. This is very helpful when you are working with family members who have multiple AncestryDNA accounts. The process is fairly straightforward and should only take you about 10 minutes.
Find your settings
The first step is to login to your AncestryDNA account, navigate to the DNA homepage, and make sure you are in the account for the person whose results you want to share. Then click on the settings button located on the left side of the page.
Scroll down to DNA Result Access
There are several different options in the settings that you will want to explore later, but don't get distracted! Scroll almost all the way down the page and you will see the "DNA Result Access" section. Click on "Add a person."
Then enter the email address or username of the Ancestry.com account you want to share your results with.
Viewer, Collaborator, or Manager?
You can review the list of things each level can can do with your results and make your decision about how much control you want to give the person you are sharing with, by clicking on "Role Details" at the top. If you want your family member to be able to do everything you can do, then you will want to choose "Manager." Then click on "Send Invitation" and sit back and let someone else do the work for you!
